Not without great effort. As long as you follow the doctor’s orders as far as exercise, lifting and returning to strenuous activities you will be fine. You can not damage it by sneezing, coughing or laughing, even though it may feel like it at the time. Listen to your body. You should walk in a slightly hunched posture for the first week after surgery. Don’t even try to straighten up. After that first week you can gradually and gently try to straighten up.
